ASPONE Editions is an independent publishing imprint founded on the conviction that a book should be more than a story brought into print: it should be a work thoughtfully conceived, carefully crafted and made to endure.

ASPONE Editions has an international outlook while maintaining a close connection with Portugal, its language, its culture and the places in which many of the stories it publishes have their roots.

Its editorial vision is independent and discerning, guiding each work from manuscript to final edition. Writing, editing, translation, visual identity, typesetting and digital publishing are regarded as parts of a single process, in which content and form work together to create a coherent and carefully considered reading experience.

Fiction lies at the heart of the catalogue, with a particular interest in stories where mystery, place, memory and character intersect. Sintra Mysteries, a literary series set within the historic and human landscape of Sintra, launches the ASPONE Editions catalogue and marks the first step in a project conceived from the outset to cross linguistic and geographical borders.

ASPONE Editions publishes across different formats and markets while preserving a single editorial identity. Portugal is the starting point, with editions in European Portuguese, followed progressively by new audiences and other languages.

Whatever the format, language or country in which a book finds its readers, the principle remains the same: to publish with conviction rather than for quantity, giving every work the time, care and identity it deserves.
